The better we feel about ourselves, the fewer times we have to knock somebody else down to feel tall. - Odetta Quote

Feelings are everywhere - be gentle. - J. Masai Quote

Anger is a symptom, a way of cloaking and expressing feelings too awful to experience directly - hurt, bitterness, grief and, most of all, fear. - Joan Rivers Quote, Still Talking

Human sentiments always win in the end. The leaders who offer blood, toil, tears, and sweat always get more out of their followers than those who offer safety and a good time. When it comes to the pinch, human beings are heroic. - George Orwell Quote

Manners are a sensitive awareness of the fellings of others. If you have that awareness, you have good manners, no matter what fork you use. - Emily Post Quote

Men are no more immune from emotions than women; we think women are more emotional because the culture lets them give free vent to certain feelings, "feminine" ones, that is, no anger please, but it's okay to turn on the waterworks. - Una Stannard Quote

Revenge has no more quenching effect on emotions that salt water has on thirst. - Walter Weckler Quote

The better we feel about ourselves, the fewer times we have to knock somebody else down to feel tall. - Odetta Quote

Never feel self-pity, the most destructive emotion there is. How awful to be caught up in the terrible squirrel cage of self. - Millicent Fenwick Quote

But are not this struggle and even the mistakes one may make better, and do they not develop us more, than if we kept systematically away from emotions? - Vincent Van Gogh Quote

One's suffering disappears when one lets oneself go, when one yields - even to sadness. - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Quote

Emotion turning back on itself, and not leading on to thought or action, is the element of madness. - John Sterling Quote

The walls we build around us to keep sadness out also keeps out the joy. - Jim Rohn Quote

How much has to be explored and discarded before reaching the naked flesh of feeling. - Claude Debussy Quote

Sadness is almost never anything but a form of fatigue. - Andre Gide Quote

Feelings are much like waves, we can't stop them from coming but we can choose which one to surf. - Jonatan Martensson Quote

The finest emotion of which we are capable is the mystic emotion. - Albert Einstein Quote

Sadness flowers to the next renewing joy. - Jareb Teague Quote

As none can see the wind but in its effects on the trees, neither can we see the emotions but in their effects on the face and body. - Nathaniel LeTonnerre Quote

The best advice I can give you about feelings is to listen to your own feelings daily. Not the feelings you think you should have, not the ones others suggest you should have, and certainly not the feelings that other people have. Listen to your inner voice and get in touch with your own.

By doing so, you'll be more intune with what's going on in your mind. You'll know as soon as stress shows up on your doorstep or when unpleasant, yet often inevitable, feelings such as regret, jealousy, and anger start to build.

By being more aware of what's going on inside your mind, you'll have a better understanding of the things you do and say. There'll be less, "Why'd I say that?!?!" moments. You'll be able to see emotions building and, depending upon the emotions, either head them off or ride them out.

Take at least 20 minutes every day to simply visit with yourself. Start by saying, "I feel____, ____, and ____." Fill in the blanks, then ask yourself WHY you feel this way.

Finally, challenge yourself by asking, "What are you going to do about it?!" Of course, if your emotions are all positive, there's only one thing left to do - Celebrate at Starbucks!
