Nearly 1 in 10 American Teenagers faced major depression last year. So, if you got an auditorium full of 200 kids, 20 of them would suffer from depression. If that doesn’t break your heart, you just might not have one.
Not suprisingly, teens who are depressed are more likely to get involved with substance abuse, which, of course, leads to even bigger problems.
Experts urge parents to keep a very close eye on their kids for early signs, and to take them to a professional at the onset of symptoms.
