I just added one of my favorite websites to the Self Help Resources Page. It’s the Real Age – Live Life to the Youngest website and it’s a complete winner. And I’m not just saying that because they’re also on the Green Tea rocks wagon – sure, that makes them sexier, but their overall brilliance is what earned them a spot.
I hope you’ll go to their website and just lose yourself in the information. You’ll get the most out of your visits if you’ll keep a notebook and pen handy. I, personally, just spent about 30 minutes surfing the site and accumulated the following notes in my own notebook:
- Folic Acid (found in leafy greens, vegetables, fruits) may help guard against hearing loss.
- To protect your eyes, eat lots of lutein. Lutein is found in spinach, chard, leafy greens, broccoli, egg yolks, and corn.
- Tumeric (found, among other places, in most mustards) boosts memory and brain function.
- Onions, apples, and blackberries are all great for the immune system. They also have been shown to strengthen your mind and boost memory. What’s more, they protect against heart disease, cancer, and respiratory disease.
Green Tea
You probably already know that green tea flushes toxins out of your body and boosts immunity. But I’ll bet there’s more to this drink than you realize. Real Age has a wonderful article titled “Six Reasons to Drink Green Tea” – and it’s truly a must read.
If you just can’t stand the thought of drinking green tea (you big silly), try the following – you might just fall in love with it
- Celestial Seasonings Mint Green tea is amazingly good. I prefer it hot, but it’s also really, really good on ice. You have to try this – I’m freaking in love with it.
- Panera Bread has a delicious, sweet, and kind of fruity iced green tea that you couldn’t help but love. It might be the thing to woo you to the Green side.
- Honey, honey, honey.
- Lemon, lemon, lemon.
- Numi makes a mild-flavored and smooth Green Tea. Try their Gunpowder Green tea bags.
- Make a pitcher of lemonade and a pitcher of Green Tea. Fill your glass with ice and pour the lemonade 1/3 of the way up, then fill the rest with Green Tea.
