Embroidered Dolls from Zimbabwe

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I want these precious dolls from Zimbabwe. The only problem is, I’m pretty certain I’d never set them down. They’re from eBay’s World of Good.com? They aren’t just too cute for my mind to get around, these dolls have an amazing story to tell.

From the Website:

Made by members of the Batsiranai Craft Project, a cooperative of mothers with disabled children living in Dzivarasekwa township in Zimbabwe. Batsiranai is an income generation cooperative, a support group of mothers and families of disabled children but even more so is a vehicle to empower women in the region. For every doll purchased, Global Exchange will donate its twin doll to a needy child in Zimbabwe. So this very doll now has a twin living with a deserving child in Zimbabwe.

Now that would even melt the Grinch’s tiny little heart. Imagine: Giving a precious doll to someone special (who you love) gives a precious doll to someone special (who you’ll never even meet).

I urge (if it’d do any good to beg, I’d go there) you to look around World of Good.com and see what all they have. If you’re wanting to make an impact at Christmas, not only in the lives of the people on your list but around the world as well – this is the place for you.

Touching as many people as possible – it doesn’t get any better than that.

More about World of Good.com:

WorldofGood.com by eBay is the world’s first online marketplace to convene thousands of People Positive and Eco Positive sellers and products all in one place, empowering you to shop in ways that align with your personal values. Respected, independent organizations verify the positive impact every product has on people and the planet. Our goal is to ensure that every choice you make here is a good one.

When you read about the product you’re interested in, you’re told what good your purchase does. It’s called “Your Purchase Impact” – and brings home the truth we’ve known all along, “It feels good to do the right thing.”

When you visit World of Good.com, be sure you check out the following categories – they’re especially mind blowing!

  • Holiday – The ornaments, decorations, Nativity Scenes, etc. from around the world are so beautiful they can’t even be described. The Nativity Set at the top of the post was made in Kenya. Women use the dried fiber of the banana plant (something normally discarded) to make these pieces. Click the image to go to this particular page.
  • Fair Trade Coffee – You had to know that a coffee addict like myself would include this link.
  • Gift Baskets – Perfect Christmas gifts for everyone on your list. Each has heart, diversity, and a taste of the extraordinary. You won’t just look like a hero, you’ll be a hero. Tell me that’s not cool.

You have to see these amazing “goods” for yourself! Get thyself to eBay’s World of Good and join the move to make the world a better place for everyone.
