Choose Your Thoughts Carefully

Life Quote Graphic

Grenville Kleiser wrote many motivational and inspirational books and self help articles. Somehow history has failed to shine the same spotlight on Mr. Kleiser that it has favored such giants as Napoleon Hill and Dale Carnegie with, but Grenville Kleiser is every inch a giant, himself.

I’m hoping that by featuring him and his teachings on Self Help Daily, more people will become familiar with this brilliant man. I’d love to see his writings touch others the way they’ve touched me. The articles I’ll be adding to the website will be typed in just as they appear in the books in my cherished collection. The writing is beautiful and holds as much meaning today as it did when it was printed (the early 1900’s).

The article below appeared in a book titled, “Inspiration and Ideals,” which was published in 1917. In the article he teaches us the importance of getting our thoughts in order.

Enjoy! ~  Joi (“Joy”)

Choose Your Life Ideals
Dwell more and more upon thoughts of what you really want in your life. Close and hermetically seal the door of your mind against thoughts of what you do not want in your life.

You desire health, vitality, wisdom, peace, confidence, hope, friendship, harmony, independence, serenity, cheerfulness, happiness, success, culture, and righteousness.

Give your thought to these and kindred subjects, since dwelling upon them often and intently tends to make them concrete in your life. Waste no thought upon things you do not want. Do not worry about things you do not need. The power is yours to choose the ideals that shall daily possess and govern your mental life. When your mind is right your life will be right. – Grenville Kleiser, Inspiration and Ideals

Basically, as Mr. Kleiser just illustrated, we can either use our thoughts FOR us or AGAINST us.
