The good news is you can choose from several of the Top 100 drugs filled to help you get control of this health problem. Keep in mind that you will need to take medicine daily for optimal results.

Listed below are some of the various medications you can choose:

2.  Beta blockers – This is a drug that decreases the immediate effects of adrenaline in the system and works to slow the heart rate.

3.  Calcium channel blockers – It may be recommended that you take this type of medication for high blood pressure. This medicine works to assist in relaxing the blood vessels.

Tip #2: Watch what you eat

It’s essential for all areas of your health to be mindful of your diet. Taking time to incorporate more healthy food choices can be the key to having a decreased blood pressure reading.

Of course, adding more fruits, vegetables and lean meats to your plate is essential in staying well-nourished and feeling your best.  Additionally, you will want to avoid eating foods that are highly processed or have a lot of sodium. These can increase your blood pressure reading rather than reduce this number.

Tip #3: Stay active

Working to keep your heart healthy is essential for having good health. Taking time each day to exercise can be extremely beneficial for your entire body and can help decrease your blood pressure in the process.

Some things you can do include going for a walk, learning yoga, joining a gym or playing your favorite sport. The main thing is simply keeping your body active to help strengthen your heart and assist in lowering your blood pressure.

Tip #4: Stress less

Life can get hectic, and you may be stressed about certain things at various stages. However, stress can increase your blood pressure reading rather than keeping it the right range.

Finding ways to help you relax and try to remain calm throughout the day can be helpful. You’ll be surprised just how much lower your blood pressure reading may be by following this simple advice.
