Quote About Living in the Moment
One of my favorite sayings I like to whip out is, “Make each moment count double.” The thought, feeling, and core belief behind the words is this: Each moment we spend in the PRESENT is a PRESENT we give ourselves.
When we spend time in the past with either regret or longing, it’s as though the PRESENT remains on the table, unopened.
When we spend time in the future with worry or fear, it’s as though we don’t even glance at the unopened PRESENT.
Our time is the most beautiful gift we can give to anyone.. including ourselves. Do all you can to live in the moment.
And make each one count double!

Hi Joi,
Love how you explained “present” here 🙂
With so much that’s happening around us, with too much to think about, being present could be challenging. But even if that’s the case, we indeed can make the most of every moment if we live in it; even if that’s the case, we can find peace in it, not if we dwell on the past, or fear the future.
Thank you.

I love this quote – I practice mindfulness meditation – and the quote fits in beautifully with the principles of this way of meditating. And we are very lucky to share our lives with a small herd of horses who are great examples of “living in the moment” – they have to be present in the moment in case there are predators around. They inspire us as much as a good quote like this does, if not more.
