Soul Currency by Ernest D. Chou is a Powerful Book with Endless Insights and Advice

Book links are usually affiliate links. This means I earn a small percentage when you click through and buy the book. This costs you nothing extra - it simply allows me to keep my cats in the lifestyle they're accustomed to.

I just finished reading 3 really special books this week. Someone (cough..I have no idea who… cough) recently made the mistake of biting off more than she could chew. So I did what I had to do – I chewed anyway. On top of a very busy time for our web publishing/design business AND a cat with a broken leg, I began reading too many books at once.

Thank goodness each book was extremely good, otherwise they’d have carted off, thrown away or burned. Okay, I don’t actually burn books – but I needed a third option to go on the other side of “or.”

The first book I’d love to tell you about is Soul Currency: Investing Your Inner Wealth for Fulfillment and Abundance by Ernest D. Chou. I absolutely LOVED this book.

Did you know:

  • According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, more than two out of three working Americans are interested in changing careers – the highest rate ever according to the BLS.
  • Studies show the average working American will have 3-5 careers and 10-12 jobs in his or her lifetime… and still lack job satisfaction more often than not.
  • In answer to a Gallop organization lifestyle survey, more than 80 percent of the people polled said they would take a cut in pay to pursue a career they liked if they could still make a good living.

The author of Soul Currency, Ernest D. Chu is a leading finance expert and visionary.

From the inside cover:

What is the best answer to rising gas prices, plummeting stock and real estate values, and not enough income? Soul Currency presents an exciting new way to understand how we open to abundant flow and fulfillment by focusing on our inner wealth — traits such as integrity, generosity, imagination, love, and intuition. These often overlooked traits are part of our soul currency, a term that refers to both a medium for exchanging value (as with money) and the circulation of a divine force in our lives, a force that bridges the material world of finance and the invisible world of Spirit. When we tap into the creative force of this “currency,” our lives unfold in the direction that we most desire.
In this transformational book, Chu explains how to recognize and overcome the false and limiting beliefs — the “counterfeit currency” — that hold us back. He helps you to identify your personalized “adventureprise” — the life that incorporates the adventure of pursuing your soul’s loftiest dreams with the enterprise of realizing your grandest ambitions — and to connect to the stakeholders who directly and indirectly support you.

Chu writes from his own experience: As a former member of the New York Stock Exchange and an entrepreneur, he took on over a million dollars in debt to avoid filing for bankruptcy when a start-up business failed. Expecting to work his entire life to pay back the debt, Chu followed the principles in this book and was able to resolve it within eighteen months.

When we finally learn to invest our spiritual capital without conditions, we build a life that brings not only materialwealth but also fulfillment and a deep sense of purpose.

Soul Currency is full of useful information, to be sure, but its power comes from the inspiration and motivation provided by the author. He basically takes the truth of one of the best quotes ever, “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us,” and fleshes it out. He shows the reader how he or she can get the best out of themselves, irregardless of what the economy is or is not doing.

This is exactly the the type of thing we’re talking about at Cheerfulliving.com. Especially in our article called “How to do what you love without selling your soul”. I’m excited to read this book and move more earnestly towards my desire to do what I love. Great post! thanks.
